How we bring a log home back
Every job follows the same three stages. How each one is done depends on what your logs need, and the estimate says which.
Site preparation
Windows, doors, plantings and anything else near the walls are protected before any work starts.
Stripping the old finish
The old finish comes off by media blasting, brushing or sanding, whichever suits the wood, and the logs are washed and prepared.
Sealing
A stain and sealant system goes on, from makers such as Sashco and Cabot's, chosen for your home and the look you want.
What we do
Exterior restoration
A full strip and refinish for logs gone grey, peeling or bare: back to clean wood, then sealed.
Maintenance coats
A clean and a fresh coat before the finish fails. Done on time, it saves a full strip later.
Interior log walls and ceilings
Log interiors cleaned and refinished, work that goes on all year.
Washing and preparation
Pressure washing and surface preparation, on its own or ahead of a new finish.
Where we work
Home is Atlanta, in Montmorency County. Most of our work is here, in the counties around us (Otsego, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Alpena, Alcona, Oscoda and Crawford) and in the counties past them. For the right job we travel farther: ask.
